How matching works

Who hears about the work, and who is read first

One rule decides who a piece of work reaches, and one order decides how an owner reads the pitches. Both are written here, in plain words.

Who a brief reaches

Everyone it fits hears at once

A brief reaches every maker it fits, at the same moment. Nobody hears first.

  1. 01 of 03

    Your trade

A brief for a photographer reaches photographers; a dinner reaches chefs.

  2. 02 of 03

    Your map

Only work where you live or travel, as your profile says.

  3. 03 of 03

    Your terms and dates

A stay or a fee as you work, a fee that meets your day rate, and dates you are free.

Every brief has an answer window. The owner chooses once it ends or once everyone has answered, so the quickest reply never wins by speed.

What orders a pitch

Four things, in this order

The owner reads every pitch. This is only the order they are read in.

  1. 01 of 04

    Fit of terms

A pitch whose terms fit the brief as written comes before one that does not.

  2. 02 of 04

    Standing

How you keep your word: answering in time, delivering on time, work approved as delivered, the owners' stars.

  3. 03 of 04

    Certified

Work and record checked by the desk come first among equals.

  4. 04 of 04

    Turns among equals

Pitches close in standing count as equal and take turns at the top, brief by brief, so the same name is not always first.

What never orders a pitch

Payment never ranks a pitch

The yearly membership pays for the seat, not for a place in the order. Premium, if it ever comes, never enters the order of pitches. There is no paid head start: every maker who fits can pitch at once.

Saying no

Saying no is free

A brief that is not for you asks for one tap: Not for me. A no is an answer, and an answer in time counts for you, never against you. Only silence past the window and late work count against your standing.

The New label

New on Rouchelli, for 90 days

For 90 days after your approval, owners see New on Rouchelli on your pitch. One New pitch per brief may be lifted among the first an owner reads, so a good newcomer is seen. Until you have a standing, you are read as the network's average, never as zero.

How standing works

Counted over a year, shown after 3 jobs

  1. 01 of 03

    What counts

Answers in time, work delivered by the agreed day, work approved without a change, the owners' stars, and certification.

  2. 02 of 03

    When it counts

The last 12 months; the last 6 count fully, the 6 before count half.

  3. 03 of 03

    When it shows

Only after 3 finished jobs, so one job never decides it. For now only the desk reads it.
