How it works

A curator, not a booking desk

Rouchelli searches Italy for the houses worth staying in, matches them to the way you travel, and introduces you to the people who own them. You book with them, not with us.

Four steps

From a first message to the keys

  1. Tell us about the trip

Where you are thinking of, roughly when, who is coming and how you like to travel. A message, a call or the villa finder: a few lines are enough.

  2. We search, and come back with a shortlist

We look at the regions ourselves and put forward the few houses and hotels we would send a friend to, matched to your brief. Not a catalogue of everything.

  3. We introduce you to the owner

Dates, questions and the final word come straight from the people who own the house. We stay in the conversation as long as it helps.

  4. You book directly, with no booking fee from us

The booking, the payment and the stay itself stay between you and the owner. Where an introduction leads to a booking, the owner may pay Rouchelli a commission; it has no effect on the rate you are quoted.

What we do
  • Search the regions ourselves and keep the collection deliberately small.
  • Match the house to the way you want to travel, not the other way round.
  • Introduce you to the owner and answer personally, region by region.
  • Share the tables, guides and quiet corners worth knowing once you are there.
What we do not do
  • Own or manage the villas: the owner hosts you, we made the introduction.
  • Take the booking or the payment: those stay with the owner or partner.
  • Charge you a booking fee.
  • List everything: if a house would not make a friend’s shortlist, it is not here.
The selection

How a house gets on the list

Every house is checked before it goes in, and the list stays deliberately small. Each one passed the same four questions.

  1. The house has to be worth the trip

Architecture, setting and light first. A pool alone is not a reason.

  2. The people behind it

An owner or host who knows the region and answers like a person, not a desk.

  3. Honest photographs

What you see on the page is the house as it stands, shot in its own light.

  4. A region we know

Every house sits in a corner of Italy we can talk about: where to eat, when to go, what to skip.

Questions

Good to know

What does Rouchelli actually do?

Rouchelli is an independent villa curator and introduction service. We search Italy for homes worth staying in, share what we know about them, and match you with the one that fits the way you want to travel. We are not a travel agency and we do not take the booking ourselves. Rouchelli is independent and owner-run, registered in the Netherlands, working directly with the people who own the houses.

Who do I book with?

Directly with the owner, or with the person who represents them. Once we have introduced you, the rental agreement, the payment schedule and the deposit are all arranged between you and the owner, on the owner’s own terms.

Does it cost anything to use Rouchelli?

No. You never pay Rouchelli a fee to send a request or to book. Where a stay goes ahead, we may receive a commission from the owner.

How quickly will I hear back?

A request reaches a real person who knows the region, and we reply within one business day. We check your dates with the owner before anything is confirmed, so sending a request never commits you to a booking.

Why do some villas show “price on request”?

Some owners set their rates per enquiry, by season and by party size, rather than publishing a single figure. Tell us your dates and who is travelling and we will come back with the full pricing and availability.

How do I send a request?

Use the Request button on any villa page, write to us through the contact page, or message us on Instagram, WhatsApp or email. Tell us where you are thinking of, roughly when, and who is coming, and we take it from there.
