Rouchelli is a living atlas of that Italy: the house you wake up in, what is worth doing once you are there, and the people whose craft is worth going out of your way for. The cook who decides the menu at the market that morning, the family that has worked the same vines for four generations, the guide who knows which door is worth knocking on.

The houses are where it begins. We comb the country region by region, get to know the houses, the hosts and the local guides behind them, and put forward only the ones we would happily point a friend towards. Every property is checked before it goes in, and the collection stays deliberately small: the goal is to know each place well enough to recommend it with confidence, not to list as many as possible.
