Emilia-Romagna is a plain with hills along its edge.
Ours are the Romagna hills above Faenza, where a dead-end road climbs past vineyards and orchards and stops at the top.
The house there is an old farmhouse brought back to life by the family who own it: four self-contained apartments of one and two bedrooms, each with its own living area, kitchen and doors onto the garden. An infinity pool sits at the edge of the slope, looking out over the vineyards, the orchards and the plain beyond. The apartments can be taken one at a time, or the whole podere at once.
